Installation, configuration and use of ES-Insight are very straight-forward processes.

This "How-To" page is presented as a brief overview, familiarizing the user with these operations.

ACTIVATING ES-INSIGHT

ES-Insight is initially installed as the "Evaluation" edition. To activate the "PRO" edition, enter an "Activation Code" into the "File->Settings" box.

The Activation Code is sent to the buyer via email and is registered to the buyers email address. The ES-Insight Evaluation edition requires no activation.

MESSAGE SUMMARY

The "Message Summary" screen is the main base of operations for ES-Insight.

The "left-hand pane" shows all log files available for study as well as any "filter" nodes.

The "right-hand pane" displays a color-coded summary of all available individual messages.

SETTING UP IIS SMTP LOGGING

ES-Insight requires that all message information be written into the IIS SMTP log.

By accessing the IIS Manager, the Default SMTP Server can be configured to enable logging and set the extended logging properties.

IP Frequency... For the selected log file, show IP address frequency counts
