XE-Filter: File Import IP Addresses

XE-Filter On-Line Documentation

Go to XE-Filter Home

The XE-Filter "File->Import IP Address" option gives administrators the ability to import lists of IP addresses and add these to XE-Filter for whitelisting or blacklisting.

These external import files must hold data in Comma-Separated-Value (CSV) fields and may be text or even XML files.

START THE IMPORT

To import an IP address file, first select either "IP Blacklist" or "IP Whitelist" in the "To" box on the import screen.

   File
Search

Under the "From File" heading, enter the complete drive and path information to the location of the file holding the IP Address import data.

To insure accuracy, a file search button is located to the right of the drive and path field.

When the correct path and file name is entered in the "From File" field, press the "Import" button to add the file information to the XE-Filter whitelist or blacklist.

Selecting the "Done" button before pressing the "Import" button will immediately close the import screen and not make any additions into the XE-Filter Whitelist or Blacklist.

SUCCESSFUL IMPORT

A successful import of IP addresses will clear the "From File" field and display a new button, "View Import Details>>>".

Selecting this button will expand the Import Screen to show all IP addresses added to the whitelist or blacklist from the selected import files.

IMPORT FILE FORMATS

The XE-Filter Import facility expects all IP Address files to be in a "Comma-Separated-Value" (CSV) format.

This CSV format may contain a single IP address or a range of IP addresses.  An optional remark field may be at the end of the entry.

Only one IP address or range of addresses is permitted per line.

If the comma character is part of the <Optional Remark> portion of the import entry, the entire <Optional Remark> must be enclosed double quote characters.
