TROY MI — June 15, 2009 —
Computer Mail Services, Inc. (CMS), a leading email

availability of XE-Filter v4, software designed with “eMail
Country-of-Origin” and DNSBL filtering that can block 99% spam
email before it reaches any existing email filter.

The new release, XE-Filter v4, expands administrative control
over filtering operations with the addition of advanced address
management. Event Logs can be easily displayed for inbound email
status, rejection reasons and simple whitelist management. Another
new feature presents the option to manually test individual IP
addresses using the same filtering techniques that are performed
automatically by XE-Filter.
"XE-Filter is already a tremendous filter, blocking over 99%
of inbound spam before it reaches an existing email filter, so the
biggest improvements we could make were in the expansion of
management and administrative options”, said Adam Johnson, Tech
Support Director for Computer Mail Services, Inc.
Simple in concept, cost-effective and requiring very little
administrative effort, XE-Filter was the first spam filter to block
email by its “Country-of-Origin”. Using the connecting IP address
of the mail server attempting to send the message, XE-Filter
determines the originating country and checks against an
administrator-specified banned country list. If the email
originates from a banned country, the message is refused.
Over the years, XE-Filter versions have added DNSBL
capabilities and whitelist and blacklist operating layers that
substantially increase XE-Filter's effectiveness.
XE-Filter installs on the Microsoft Exchange
2000/2003 server that is the point of entry of inbound email
traffic. For non-Exchange sites, it can be installed on any PC
with server or professional editions of the Windows OS, to act as the gateway with the Internet.
XE-Filter works with
existing anti-spam filters.
XE-Filter is available now with prices starting
at US$295 per for 25 users or less. A 21-day
evaluation version of
XE-Filter can be downloaded from the CMS website,
www.cmsconnect.com.
