Yes you can, but CMS doesn't recommend that all existing rules be transferred.
The Praetor G2 Bayesian filter is most likely to perform much better at catching spam than all
Praetor v1.5 rules combined. Transferring every existing rule will only slow down Praetor G2.
CMS recommends you transfer only the following into Praetor G2:
Non-spam rules that you created, e.g. those pertaining
to competitors, confidential information, etc. |
White lists for approved domains, senders, listservers, etc. |
Black lists for suspicious senders and domains (formerly
the banned senders and domains in Praetor v1.5) |
Lists for banned or suspicious attachments |
Lists for disallowed profanity |
The easiest method to get your list entries from Praetor v1.5 to G2
is to use the MODLIST tool. On your Praetor v1.5 installation
invoke this command line tool:
MODLIST /EXPLISTS:MyPrLists.TXT
Your Praetor lists and their entries will be place into the
MyPrLists.TXT file and can be moved onto the Praetor G2 machine for
importing on a selective list basis. Read the online manual to see
how this list import is performed by clicking
here.
