I have a small site with Exchange 5.5 and Praetor v1.5 co-existing, what do you recommend?
Most likely your server uses a Windows NT operating system.  This is not compatible with Praetor G2, it needs a later Windows version.  In that case, CMS recommends that the use Praetor v1.5 be continued until you can get a new machine.

If your Exchange 5.5 is on a Windows 2000 machine with Praetor v1.5 and its CPU is underutilized, then it may be compatible for a direct upgrade.  However, while installing and configuring Praetor G2 the machine will be off-line, a process that may take an hour or more.

In fact, familiarizing yourself with Praetor G2 may take even longer.  The entire administration program has been changed to a Microsoft Management Console snap-in application.

If you insist on running Praetor G2 on a compatible Windows 2000 Exchange 5.5 server, CMS recommends that a temporary machine be used for installing and configuring Praetor G2.  This will avoid disrupting email traffic.  After Praetor G2 is configured and operating, CMS will help you install Praetor G2 on top of Praetor v1.5 and then transfer the settings from the temporary Praetor G2 machine.  The temporary machine will continue to receive email so nothing is lost during this migration process.
