A very important feature included in Praetor is the message level DNSBL
screening feature. If not the first, Praetor is one of the few
offering screening on both the protocol level and message level to
provide a greater degree of protection.
Message level screening
means that the message is received so more information can be
logged and examined. DNSBL at the protocol level can only record the source IP
address and why the DNSBL has it listed, if they should provide such
a reason. Just having an IP address is difficult to identify the
sending domain. With message level DNSBL filtering, Praetor now can
record the sender address, intended recipient, and subject; this
means that it is very easy to identify a trading partner who has
been blacklisted. |
