XE-Filter v5 adds many new features and capabilities to those already found in
previous releases. All customers with active XE-Filter Support
Contracts can download
the new version at no extra charge. |
|
DNSBL Caching |
XE-Filter will
now cache all IP query results,
blacklisted and those found to be not
blacklisted.
This
improvement is most helpful to sites
with email volumes so large that the maximum free
daily query count limit on some DNSBL servers
(e.g. spamcop) is triggered.
These limits are implemented
as an attempt to get companies to register and pay for
a DNSBL service.
Hitting this limit substantially slows
DNSBL server
responsiveness, which may have a detrimental
effect on your SMTP server performance.
|
Automated Check of Support Status |
XE-Filter v5 now will automatically check the status of
a company's support contract: "Expired" or "Active".
If the support status is "Expired", an email notice is
sent to the registered address
providing a link to a secure site to renew support via credit card.

IP List Import |
Several XE-Filter sites have seen
issues involving Blackberry email routed through
servers in countries that are on the banned list.
To prevent this, SenderBase.org has the ability to search and list
all IPs used by RIM. A new facility was
added to import this ist. Now these IP line entry formats
are
considered valid.

Allow CMS eMail even if USA is in the banned
country list
|
Previous
XE-Filter versions could block CMS email if the United
States of America was selected in the Banned Country
List.
This CMS
email was relevant and often contained news of products
updates or tips on the efficient usage of XE-Filter.
XE-Filter v5 now looks for such CMS email and marks the log entry
a new reason code of "!CMS".
