Praetor Success Story

Praetor's a Hit at a Premier Boston Law Firm

Go to Praetor Main
Go to CMS Main

Since 1894, Bernkopf, Goodman and Baseman LLP, a premier Boston Massachusetts law firm has been helping clients in all aspects of real estate law.  Employees of Bernkopf, Goodman and Baseman LLP rely heavily on email communications and had grown accustomed to spam mixed in with the important correspondence in their mail boxes.

This clutter seemed so normal that when they downloaded and installed the Praetor 21-day evaluation version, greatly reducing the amount of spam, some employees thought their email was not functioning correctly.

The following letter from F. Bedard, Director of Information Systems, to a member of CMS' sales staff, describes the employee reaction when Praetor eliminated spam for Bernkopf, Goodman and Baseman LLP.
"The difference is dramatic.  SPAM has fallen off by 99.8% overnight".

"Yesterday we received almost 1100 emails, 294 were legit, the rest were quarantined".

Hi Pam, this is a not so brief reply....LOL

To be honest I found the application and documentation so straight forward that I never felt the need to contact anyone. I implemented Praetor last Tuesday night, (with absolutely no trouble) but never told anyone in our office.

By Thursday my users started coming to me saying that their email didn't appear to be working. I asked if they were receiving their emails and they said, "Yeah but not as much as usual." I asked if it was the SPAM that was missing from their mailboxes. After they thought about it for a minute it was as if a light bulb went off in their heads. "OH MY GOD YOU'RE RIGHT!  THAT'S WHAT'S MISSING!   I'M NOT GETTING ANY SPAM!"

"SO GET OUT OF MY OFFICE AND GET BACK TO WORK", I told them.

The difference is dramatic. SPAM had fallen off by 99.8% overnight. I sent out an official notification to everyone this past Monday. Some people replied that certain sites weren't getting through. I added those domains as "accepted domains" and we seem to be moving forward nicely.

It's rare that anyone in IT is thanked but I've been getting high fives for the past week. It's a refreshing change. People get so mad at spam they take it out on the IT department because they can't chew out the SPAMMER.

The reporting features have allowed me to show my superiors exactly how effective the software has been. Yesterday we received almost 1100 emails, 294 were legit, the rest were quarantined.

We will be purchasing the program before our trial expires. I just wanted to kick Praetor's tires a bit more before I rushed to judgment. At this time however I see no reason why we won't GLADLY make this purchase.

Well done CMS/Praetor! Well done! I'm singing your company's praises to any who will listen.

Editor's Note: Since this letter was written, Bernkopf, Goodman and Baseman LLP has purchased a Praetor license.
