  How do I deactivate Praetor?

To stop the Praetor service:

STEP 1 From Praetor's Microsoft Management Console administration snap-in, highlight the Praetor G2 Enabled icon in the left pane
STEP 2 Right-mouse click to bring the action menu.
STEP 3 Select the Stop Praetor menu item.

While Praetor is stopped, email is still received by the Microsoft virtual SMTP server but Praetor no longer performs any filtering.

To temporarily deactivate Praetor and restore the original mail server as the active receiver, it is not necessary to de-install Praetor. This is especially true if you need assistance from CMS technical support.

These steps are valid for any mail environment where Praetor is in use, whether or not the ultimate server is on the same or different machine.

Restarting Praetor

To restart the Praetor service select and re-enable filtering, select the Start Praetor menu item from Praetor's Microsoft Management Console administration snap-in.
