If you see the need to temporarily deactivate Praetor and restore your original mail server as the active receiver, it is not necessary for you to de-install it. This is especially true if you are trying to get assistance from CMS technical support. Do not de-install Praetor as re-installing may introduce another problem that masks your original issue.
All you need to do is simply stop the Praetor service from its Microsoft
Management Console administration snap-in. This
is done by highlighting the icon in the left pane and
right-mouse click to bring the action menu.
Select the
menu item. When Praetor is stopped, email will still be received by the Microsoft virtual SMTP server but Praetor will no longer perform any filtering.
These steps are valid for any mail environment where you use Praetor, whether or not the ultimate server is on the same or different machine.
If Praetor is already disabled, then you can select to re-enable its filtering by selecting the
menu item.
