Insert Text |

This action is used primarily to add a disclaimer to the message body. It is an action that can be used with global rules (that have no condition) sensitive only to the message direction or with individual rules, each with a different disclaimer text.
Note:
Since global rules are distinguished by their direction, you can create a separate disclaimer for each direction. Alternatively you may supplement the global disclaimer with additional text that only apply for particular rule(s). |
Insertion of the disclaimer text into the message can be done either at the beginning or end of the original text portion. In either case, you select the appropriate action from the list.
In the Rules Description box, click on file name so that you may select the appropriate file containing the text that you want to insert. A file browse dialog box will appear.
Once selected press the Rule Wizard screen with the full path and filename appearing in the Rule Description box.
button and you will be returned to the previous
Note:
Praetor is not sensitive to the disclaimer text; it adds whatever you have in the specified file into the message. Thus, if the file contains HTML disclaimer text, and the message was declared to be plain text, Praetor will not convert the message and promote it to become HTML since the original was not HTML. Praetor is, however, sensitive to the type of the original message body content. If it finds the body is HTML, it will perform a simple conversion of the disclaimer text, inserting <BR> before all end-of-line characters. Outside of this simple conversion it does not do anything else to the disclaimer. CMS suggests that you keep the text line length at a maximum of 60 characters. This will prevent mail clients on the receiving end to introduce line breaks that will make your disclaimer be sub-optimal in its appearance on-screen. |
